My
work constitutes a practice of deep observation of
the interconnectedness of all things.
A
collection of visual records of moments and perceptions
arises driven by a desire to experience and share
reality beyond our most immediate conditionings, exploring
the nature of our human experience in its profound
and vast significance.
The
ability to be increasingly more present in each observation
transforms the work into an endless revealing practice,
and invites the viewer to engage in their own observations
as well.
layers,
process, and dialogue
The paintings are built through the layering of deconstructed
architectural elements in a process where gesture
and analysis alternate to allow the realization of
the piece.
In
the painting process, each piece evolves from initial
marks through a series of layers, creating a unique
dynamics, and eventually revealing the painting’s
own individual character.
brazilian
heritage, cultural mix, and detroit
Through my Brazilian heritage I have incorporated
an openness which is characteristic of our culture,
an ability to absorb external influences to create
our own interpretation of various cultural phenomena,
while maintaining our own identity.
As
I continue to experience different environments, my
paintings translate an increasingly richer dialogue
among different cultural, formal, and spiritual references.
A pronounced influence has been the environment of
the city of Detroit, where I have established my
studio since 1998.

| Simone
has a bachelor's degree in Architecture and
Urbanism. In her professional life, she has
also bridged the fields of art and design, working
from 1998 - 2008 as designer and creative director
for a local firm.
She has exhibited extensively
in the Detroit area, as well as in other parts
of the country, including New York and San Francisco.
Her work is part of private and corporate collections,
including the University of Michigan, Compuware,
BonSecours Hospital, and Precision Capital,
in New York.
She
is the founder and director of Re:View
Contemporary, a new gallery and art project
in Midtwon Detroit
