graduate from the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit,
Coley McLean started the Salt-Mine Studio in 1998. Throughout
the years she has transformed the studio from a simple
artist workspace into a fully equipped shop capable
of developing and fabricating unique designs of different
scales.
Coley
translates the industrial environments that are part
of her daily life into her art work, making pieces
that "bend" common objects into new and transformed
uses.
Currently
working as top welding technician at Washtenaw Community
College, Ann Arbor, Coley is also commissioned by
different businesses in the Detroit area to execute
custom design and fabrication.
